Rethinking ingredient supply chains with Adam Maxwell of Voyage Foods
I’m taking this week off from the news to visit family. Which gives me the opportunity to share with you my interview with Adam Maxwell of Voyage Foods. Thanks to Tim Hammerich for letting me co-host this episode on this show, The Future of Agriculture .
Voyage Foods is a food-tech-turned CPG and ingredient company commercializing traditional foods like cocoa, coffee, and spreads with reimagined ingredients that are in abundant supply, allergen free, and non-traditional.
Voyage is not a lab made alternative food company — they are doing things differently, and I’m excited to share this story with you.
*New since this recording — the company is moving production from California to Ohio where they’ve built a large facility that will allow them to scale.
Adam believes global supply for daily comforts like a cup of coffee or some chocolate are exceeding the limits of agriculture, and that’s what led him and his co-founder Kelsey Tenney to launch Voyage Foods in 2021.
You might have seen their spreads at Walmart or in Rudi’s Sandos — and I’m not gonna lie, they taste good.
Voyage Foods has raised $94 million to date, have patented processes, and partnered with Cargill earlier this year to distribute their cocoa-free cocoa.
All my best,
Jennifer
